Adachi Miyagi Family Park's skating area is a community-driven outdoor skate spot in the Miyagi district of Adachi-ku, near Adachi-Odai Station on the Tokyo Sakura Tram (Toden Arakawa Line). The facility's skatable obstacles — boxes, manual pads, arcs, flat rails, and cones — are largely DIY-built and maintained by the local skateboarding community, giving the spot an informal, neighbourhood character. Entry is free and no registration or helmet is required, making it one of the more accessible spots in the eastern 23 wards.
History
Adachi ward's Miyagi Family Park has long served as a community recreation space. The skating area emerged informally as local skaters began building and maintaining DIY sections within the park. This pattern of community-led skate infrastructure is common in Adachi-ku, one of Tokyo's more working-class northern wards, where municipal investment in dedicated skateparks has historically been limited. The local skaters who maintain the spot are known for being welcoming to all levels.
